Switching Computers Help Please?!!?!?
I bought a new computer and it has nothing installed on it, such as windows or anything and i need to install windows pro and get my key off my current computer and get it on to my other computer, how do i get my key so i can just put in my windows xp pro disk and take the key from the computer im using right now and put it on the better computer?

if you have a computer like hp or dell, you may have a hard time getting it to work on the new computer. to retrieve the serial, go here http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
as the guy above said, belarc is a good one too.

Legally ... you can't .... the serial number should be on a sticker on the side of your PC .... download a little program called Belarc (do a google search) that will reveal all kinds of info ...including your XP serial number

you can try calling microsoft and consult them, and after the realize you are using an illegal copy you can get soap on a roap to keep safe in jail
