Are we as American ready to do the backbreaking labor that undocumented workers do ?
Working the Ag Fields of California ? Working in Hotels cleaning **** ?
I didnt think so. Unless we as American are ready to do such labor we really need to shut the hell up.
Do we need to secure boarders ? Yes of course, however there is no doubt were going to need temporary workers ,who should have right to earn their citizenship.
Should we kick out all piece **** gangmembers that insist on terrorizing hardworking Americans? Hell Yes! Yet, we must remember that this miniscule percentage of the undocumented.
The reality is that most (key word being most) undocumented workers just want to the chance to progress in life just like the founding fathers of this nation.
Or we could just use the Republican Theory of a "Safe and prosperous America" and kick every latino out of this country and watch the nation crumble. Then see another Democrat get this nation out of the gutter again.

I hear a lot of you talking the talk, Now walk the walk, There are jobs available right now in Colorado and California today because of ICE raids, And Anti immigration Laws in Colorado the crops are rotting in the fields, Colorado farmers Raise their pickers wages to $9.60 from $5.15 to attract Americans, With no luck,Americans will simply not do that hard work.
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-ed-colorado...
The Bracero program began in 1942 and ended in 1964,undocumented workers have picked America's crops for 65 years.

U.S. Depatrment of labor states:
Place of birth ( US Farm workers)
Mexico .........,75%
U.S.................23%
Central America 2%
Others..................1%
53% of unauthorized Farm Workers are Undocumented.

The person that said the pay needs to be about $13.00 an hour is dreaming, They were offered that amount to pick Strawberries in California that rotted in the fields, because of the lack of interest in those jobs by Americans,
The facts state that those jobs Americans simply will not do !!
EDIT: It is against American labor law to discriminate in hiring, If an American has the qualifications to do a job, and the job is given to an undocumented ' that is illegal' or as many antis say they know people that were fired to hire undocumented, that is Job Discrimination under The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Act of 1965 (EEOC) You can file a complaint in court and get that job with back pay, if the Court finds in your favor.
Why isn't this being done, if you are discriminated against ?

Boy some people!!! Americans are not lazy we just want a fair hourly wage to do those jobs and I'm not talking 8 bucks an hour either, that regardless what job your in, is not a living wage a fair living wage is more in the neighborhood of 12 to 13 dollars an hour because of the high cost of food ,gas, housing and everything else needed to live a simple life and it can work(the higher wages that I speak of)if we as americans think for example that the price of tomatoes is to high then stop buying them the people at the top are greedy and if their product doesn't sell they'll be forced to lower the cost in order to make some money and by doing so they will not make the extreme profit their used to, if we americans can stop the demand, that will equal lower prices on everything. And if you think the employer will say fine If I can't make that obscene profit then I'll close the plant! Wrong he can't, not if he want's to make money and even if he did someone else will come in to fill the void thus he will lose out bigtime if he is unwilling to bend to the big wind(us) and by the way this is another reason not to let people come into this country the more people we have the less they are willing to pay because with all the people looking for jobs they basically say" take this amount of money or I'll hire someone else that will" see the connection

Just cuz you may be ******* one doesn't mean we all want to .
They are ALL criminals - they broke a law - Once you break one law its pretty easy to break another.
They DO NOT WANT TO ADVANCE IN LIFE - Or they would be going to school and getting an education. They would marry the people they impregnant here and stop leaving behind illegitamate kids for the gov't to pay for.
They are CRIMINALS.
YOU CANNOT GET A JOB IN MEXICO WITHOUT AN FM3 VISA ALONG WITH A PASSPORT. THEY FAVOR THEIR CITIZENS FOR JOBS OVER FOREIGNERS - DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING OF THE IMMIGRATION PROCESSES TO GET INTO MEXICO - NO YOU DON'T - IT WOULD TAKE YOU 5 to 7 YEARS to get CITIZENSHIP - But AMERICA is SUPPOSED to JUST LET THEM COME HERE CUZ THEY HAVE IT SO HARD - ITS HARD ALL OVER !!!!!!!SO GROW UP AND DO SOME RESEARCH .
THE NATION WOULD NOT CRUMBLE - THE CRIME RATE WOULD GO DOWN - AMERICA WAS A GREAT PLACE BEFORE THEY CAME AND WILL BE EVEN BETTER AFTER THEIR DEPARTURE .

Yes, legal Americans will work at any jobs to get by. I worked in const. until the builders got greedy and started the illegal hiring. But as of Jan. 1, 2008 No companies here in Tennessee will be allowed to hire any illegal. I guess I don't have to shut the hell up for I have worked in all the jobs you have mention. Just worked in the fields on dad's farm not in Ca. Hard work but we done it.

I work in a meat packing plant doing one of "those jobs" I see illegals taking jobs more and more all the time. I have call ICE several times, but nothing yet. For the place I work, there were 300 American Citizen applications for 1 low paying, back breaking job, that happens to produce some of the food for the US. I know plenty of people who would like the work... so just because you wouldnt do it, doesnt speak for the rest of us! Deport the illegals! I also just happened to grow up on a farm and continue to farm. We do back breaking field work all the time...

is this the progress they're looking for? FROM the article; A woman allegedly deported once from the United States was sentenced to five years probation, about $12,000 in restitution and a stayed prison term in Mower County District Court Thursday for illegally receiving county assistance. Carmela Hernandez-Mondragon, 30, pleaded guilty to one felony count of wrongfully obtaining public assistance Sept. 24 as part of a plea agreement; three felony counts of aggravated forgery were dismissed.
According to court records, Hernandez-Mondragon received $5,410 in county funds under her real name, while working as “Julia Botello” at Quality Pork Processors. ****not only are we ready to do the back breaking labor but we have for generations, additionally the illegal immigrants who have put down roots in the U.S. are creating an inability for the true migrant workers (you remember them they're the ones that work to growing season then return to mexico) to get into the U.S. to work their yearly jobs. FROM the article; On any given day, about half of the 30 or so men waiting to pounce on those trucks are Latinos, many of them undocumented. But the rest are African American men like Sam Gibbs. One chilly afternoon, Gibbs, 47, sprinted like a teenager toward a red pickup, hawking his services to two black men inside.

Well lets see I have been swinging a 16 lb sledge hammer, using a 36 inch pipe wrench, digging bars,..etc. for over 15 years. Oil production is very hard work. Yet there are nothing but us lazy americans doing it. Illegals could never get into the OCAW (oil chemical atomic workers) union. And somehow the work still gets done.

Oh my god! Please don't tell me you buy into that crap that all the illegal immigrants do is Our dirt work.Like no American bust his a** for a living. Think about it for a minute please! What you are trying to tell us is that all they do is come over hear and do Our crap work. Why is there such a high crime percentage with illegals in every city they go too? Don't get me wrong. There is a percentage that come to do that work, but you take any job that you see them do. I can say with 100% aaccuracy that More Americans are doing that same job nation wide.

Most invaders throughout history always wanted to become part of the new society. That does not mean we have to let them in.
For years these jobs were done by regular Americans but not anymore. Why cant the jobs be done by Americans today?
- Anonymous1 decade ago
Americans are ready to do it and willing...for a fair and decent wage.
With the Mexican pilot program what is going to be next on the imaginary list of jobs Americans supposedly won't do...drive a truck for a living?
