What are your 3 favorite Sci-fi shows & why?

At its best, it is the greatest TV show ever. Great stories, good writing, incredible situations; it's biggest weak point is that it is being dragged on too long. Too long of a wait for a shortened season, but I'll be recording if not watching.

FireFly (t.v.series) Serenity (motion picture)

The future is probably not going to be as friendly and advanced as Star Trek might have you believe. There were some very original, though flawed characters. I believe it was the flaws that made them shine.

Star Trek ( any series except Enterprise)

Very imaginative writing, though TNG borrowed a lot of storylines from the original series. The Star Trek shows represent over twenty five years of some pretty good Sci Fi TV. Star Trek has quite a few characters that are icons in every sense of the word and is the inspriation for much of what came afterward.

Misfits of Science because at the time it came out I was young and heavily into comics and this series had a cast of characters which were super heroes. I absolutely loved this series but it only lasted one season.

Firefly because it was smart, witty, and well developed. Joss Whedon is unbelievable. I didn't think I would here from him after Buffy and Angel got canceled but he came through with an absolutely superb TV show which should've been given more of a chance to catch on. This is another TV show I really liked that was cancelled after one season.

Star Trek: Next Generation because I loved the character of Data. The idea of an android trying to become human really appealed to me. It gave me someone to latch onto and make me care about the rest of the show. I love all the movies that were based on the next generation and really miss them now that the show is no longer playing.
