i used to have 3 fish and we had 2 as our class pet. one of them was doing that same thing your fish is doing. i think it's sick and you should take it to the vet. if you don't take it to the vet it will probably die because that's what happened to our class fish. the percentage of your fish dying is high so you better act fast unless you want your fish dead in the next few hours.

Well, certainly not enough information here to work with.
But shaking is a sure sign something is most definately wrong.
Now... what kind of fish,
how long has the tank been set up,
any other fish? what kinds?
what kinds of filters being used?
Do you do water changes? how much how often?
what is the temp?
Ever tested the chemestry? Ammonia? Nitrites?
Short answer without knowing anything, look up a fish illness commonly called "shimmies." Betcha that comes close.

It sounds like a bacterial infection.
Go to any good pet store and get "Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Mela Fix". People rave about it. Isolate the fish to its own tank first, then use this product on it and hope for the best.
Good luck!

if it's not swimming right [i.e. leaning to one side, upside down, kinda just floating around, or like it has an intertube floaty thing around it's middle and can't swim right] it might be a swim bladder infection. clean out the tank, maybe add some salt [worked on my goldfish.. only for a while tho.. rip :( ] but ya, good luck

its suicidal! my friend had a fish like that and he did what you are describing. then, he started swimming really fast and scratching the bottom of the tank so that his belly would get all scratched up. eventually, he started to bleed and died. =( it was sad.

my fish did that because it saw it's own reflection and thought it was another fish. My fish wanted to mate with it. so, it got another fish.
