You are ready for it. Have your coach come over and talk to your mom and dad about the risks involved in the hurt business. Have the coach also explain the safety mechanisms in place to mitigate the risk factor.

Sounds like you are ready to step into the ring. Remember the chubby little 14 year old you get in the ring with has a mom who worries just like your mom. Give the kid hell, you would not want to disappoint his mom, would you?

Good job on getting up to speed quickly. Best of luck!!

Tell your mom that Amateur boxing is a very safe sport. It's not the bloodsport that professional boxing can be. In the lower age divisions (at 14 you'd be a cadet) the referee's are very quick to stop a fight should one fighter be in trouble.

As for a career: you're only 14. Don't put all your chips on it. Pursue your education and try to go to college or get a job training. Just as a safety net. A professional athlete's career can end in a heartbeat.

From reading this, I gather that you are uneducated, irrational and you don't listen. You need to start taking school seriously and learn to spell. Then when you start following some rules and learning about the world, you may have a different prospective on getting in the ring. Remember too when you get in the ring it is more mental that physical. Many people have the physical tools to be a good fighter, but it takes discipline to be a champ. Good luck.

The first thing u must do is be more dedicated to the sport after all this is not something u play, u need to make sure that u are able to protect your-self I think you should start by attending the gym everyday and take heed to your mothers cations because it's no guarantee that you'll leave the ring the same as u went in stay cool and take it from me this aint the thing to do half-assed.

Everyone starts somewhere and if you are really that good talk to your mom and tell here and any sport people can get hurt. My grandson is 12 years old and the smallest kid on his travel football team. He got picked because he doesn't fear taller kids of his own age and yes kids get hurt, stepped on with klits and even get broken bones. So you have to do some convincing to do with your mom. Tell her to talk to your trainer. GOOD LUCK.

If you love it so much as you typed it, make a career out of it. If your not ready now when will you ever be. Basically what I am saying is you are always ready whenever you decide to take the leap of faith.

You have found your obsession and everyone should be happy for you. It is your mother's job to worry, however she should be more Spartan-like and not fear injury to you so much as loss of your honor by not pursuing your destiny.

Tell your mom that the art of boxing is to not get hit,not to recklessly absorb punches.Good luck!Let us know how it goes.
