It is probably drying out her skin. The PH balance is different between humans and dogs and therefore between human shampoo and dog shampoo.

I have goldens and it does not bother them to be washed with human shampoo. It smells better I think, but if it is bothering her, switch to puppy shampoo.

Don't use a human shampoo on dogs, it is not good for their skin, and it will make them want to lick it off, that is why they go nuts when shampooed with it, the perfumes, the conditioners in it is not good for dogs, only humans, get some good dog shampoo from a pet store...do you also use the conditioner on the dog, ha ha

It probably makes your dog itchy. You should never ever use human shampoo on your dog, is it too harsh.

It may be the scent she is attracted to, or she could be itching or stirring up fleas. As far as dog shampoo vs people shampoo. Human shampoo is far gentler and contains no pesticides unlike most dog shampoos. All dog shampoos tend to be heavily scented as well. My vet said to use human shampoo or dawn dish liquid when bathing my dog.

You for one thing are not suppoused to use human shampoo on dogs it drys out there skin!
