In Yoga, there are a series of poses specifically to improve body balance. Some asanas in this series are Vrikasana, Garudasana, Natarajasana and Ardha Chandrasana.
These poses are great for improving body (and mental) balance. These poses are also the first ones to be tried when starting a yoga session.
These poses will bring a sense of stability and balance.

yes, take it from someone who didn't think so... i love the P90X program for home workout because it has a Yoga tape too... great for posture, aching back and increasing flexibility. Also might try the recordings from Independent Achievement Productions, they are really helping me stay in line with my goals set BEFORE new years!

Yes yoga will help you with balance, as well as flexibility and core muscle conditioning.

Yes, and it also helps with your posture! And Mentally it really helps you to learn to concerate, and Relax better too!! And going to yoga classes, you meet new friends too!! So its really good for you all around.
