PLEASE please please please do NOT get depo provera!

http://www.rateitall.com/ read the reviews there as well as googling "depo provera lawsuit" as there are several class action lawsuits against the makers of this drug because of what it does to women.

I was on depo and I would never EVER recommend it to anybody. I'm on Kariva (pill) now and side affect free and still recovering from the shot.

I do not think the Depo Provera shot is a healthy choice, only because it stops your periods altogether. We're women, and we're supposed to have a cycle each month and I feel it is highly unnatural to tamper with that. Also, on a personal note, I became pregnant while using the Depo shot---I did not know I was pregnant until my fourth month due to the fact that I didn't get a period in the first place so I wasn't "missing it" and I had no symptoms. The pill is my preference, but you should talk to your doctor and get as educated as possible---only you can choose what is best for you. There are many forms of birth control available now.

I took it when I was a teenager. I bleed for nine months strait, before my mother let me discuss changing it. I'm 28 now. I have been having miscarriages this past year and my first and only child was a threatened miscarriage. And since my first two miscarriages I've had achy joints. I've had 4 all together. Haven't had much help from doctors. After reading Terri's comment about the lawsuits,(never heard of it before) I goggled it, and I'm going to look into it, because it sounds like there could possibly be a connection.

The pill over the shot! I've heard many a story of women gaining weight and getting moody on the shot. I'll agree with Marena, there are LOADS of b.c. options out there--explore!

I use the Nuvaring and love it. I'm not great at taking a pill at the same time every day, and the ring is constantly delivering hormones through your vaginal walls.
