    OTT = Off the Track.

    a thoroughbred that has at least been trained to race,and has most likely seen some track mileage.

    They are wonderful animals who are athletic and intelligent.I have had some amazing ones - ones that gave me everything for some amazing rides.

    They are NOT for beginners.They are not saddle trained, in the way that you would think.They know how to walk & run, basically.

    persons are loopy. A thoroughbred may be a great beginner's horse, so ought to an Arabian, and 1 / 4 Horse, even a Mustang. it certainly relies upon on the guy horse. once you're observing horses, do no longer pay too lots interest to breeds, they do no longer seem to be what's truly important. They generalize traits, in spite of if that's no longer concrete. you will discover a superbly calm, soft Thoroughbred, only such as you will discover a loopy, out of control Quarter Horse. and that i've got met quite a few of those. in case you like a Thoroughbred, look at a gaggle till you discover a quiet one that fits your desires. Thoroughbreds could be very versatile, i'm confident you will have the potential to discover individual who can do pony club, persistence and leaping. Thoroughbreds get a foul rep as being hotheads using fact lots of them are racehorses. however the complete breed is in comparison to that, you will discover one that must be acceptable for a beginner.

    It means Off The Track (OTT). They may or may not have made it through training to actually race. Either way, they have been bred and rasied to race and will require special, experienced handeling to retrain and recover from any injuries that most all race horses wind up with after a stint at the track.

    Source(s): 20 years working with horses, including 11 years working with TB's from breeding through racing.
  • Of the Track- Meaning the Thoroughbred once raced (Thoroughbreds race on a track.) and no longer races.
