Recommend best Gamecube games for first-time Gamecube buyer?

Question

I'm going to buy a Gamecube as they are cheap and I've never had chance to really sit down and play one. I was wondering if anybody could recommend any good games that may suit my taste...

On N64 I loved Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
I also enjoyed N64 titles such as GoldenEye, Conkers Bad Fur Day, WinBack, Spiderman, Goemon, and Shadowman. Mario was okay, as well as Donkey Kong, but not my favorites. I never got into the whole Resident Evil - I'm one of those people who couldn't stand its controls. I am not looking for racing games. My favorite games are adventure types, with level bosses, items, stradgeties, etc. 

I wasn't a big Zelda Ocarina fan - I didn't like the long stretches of wandering around and found it a bit difficult. I hate back-tracking and I've never liked a Turok game that I've played. 

So I guess my real question would be, are there any good adventure type games, stradgety for GC? I was thinking about
buying HULK and LOTR 2 TOWERS

Zelda Twilight Princess (you will not be disappointed)
Mario Party 4,5,6,7
Final Fantasy (would be a good game to fit your category)
or try some other things like shooter games like 
007 everything or nothing 
007 night fire

Okay, Sonic games are dumb, Mario games are too old, I would suggest Metroid Prime. It is a very challenging and long game that requires you to explore your environment in order to pass each mission. I hope you try it :)
