Hand/Wrist pain need advice?

I have had wrist/hand pain for three months now and the doctor told me it could be sprain. But I think it is different because it has lasted this long. I talked to my doctor again and she can't find anything wrong (she did xrays and found nothing) so now I am going to an orthopedic doctor. But I was wondering if anybody else knows what else can cause the wrist and hand to have pain (especially when bending your hand downward - I have a bump there - where my wrist and hand meet, but only when it is bent downward. And I have pain when I try to do a push-up - the pain is not from my wrist but below the knuckle area when pressure is applied) And there is no swelling.

That bump you described, that's most likely your lunate bone (one of the wrist bones) sticking out. It's out of alignment, disturbing other bones in your wrist, causing pain, and needs to be put back into place. I refer my patients to a special chiropractor in town, I recommend you see one to have it fixed.

It might be carpel tunnel syndrome. The nerve that passes from the arm to the hand through the wrist can become compressed and cause chronic pain. Ask your doctor to check you out for that. It comes from repeated overuse of the hands and wrists such as a lot of keyboarding, mousing, or a job that involves repetitive movements.
