im guessing you didnt read the book. it a memeber or the lower class... like a peasant. apparently the movie was hard to film because hazrats are so hard to find outside of the middle east that speech english well.. hope that helps

yeah the movie was good. Hazaras are a lower social class, basically the servants. that why Hassan and his dad Ali (hazaras) were the servants to amir. the bully, Assef, would harass Hassan because, well, he was of lower class. did you know that the actor who played hassan (as well as the actor who played amir) are sort of in danger in their home country? The actor who played Hassan said that his school mates will think that he was actually raped and alienate, threaten, and even hurt him because he portrayed a boy that portrayed Hazaras in such a bad way.

Though the child actors enjoyed making the film, they and their families have expressed worries about their situation now that the film is done. Ahmad Khan Mahmidzada (Hassan as a child) said regarding one scene "I want to continue making films and be an actor but the rape scene upset me because my friends will watch it and I won't be able to go outside any more. They will think I was raped."[3] Additionally, Zekeria Ebrahimi (Amir as a child) has said "We want to study in the United States. It's a modern country and more safe than here Kabul. If I became rich here I would be worried about security. It's dangerous to have money because of the kidnapping."[3] Money has become an issue in another way as well, as some groups have claimed that the child actors were underpaid; Zekeria Ebrahimi, Ahmad Mahmidzada, and Ali Dinesh all received less than $18,000 each for the making of the film.[3] These events have even led to the creation of a website devoted to protecting the welfare of the boys involved in the film.[4] In October 2007 the family of Ahmad Khan (who plays Hassan as a child) announced the film's distributors, Paramount Vantage, are evacuating them from Afghanistan.[5]

From what i read in the book they were of Chinese and middle eastern decent and were considered a lower class than everyone else. They were usually very poor and the servants to Afgans. Also he was raped because the boy that was picking on him, as portrayed through the novel, liked taking advantage of the same sex as he did Hassan's son toward the end of the novel.

i had the two finished interpreting the e book and watched the action picture.. all of them are great. yet of direction, the e book exchange into greater specified and the tale exchange into particularly suggested on it.. unlike on the action picture, the main severe areas are the only one being shown.. sohrab didnt even committed suicide on the action picture.. however the action picture exchange into no longer undesirable after all.. its particularly great. it made me cry purely like the e book.. u might desire to observe it if u have time.. its great!

He was raped and bullied because he was a Hazara. They're an ethnic group, like Americans or Chinese. They were looked down upoin because Afghanistan was not their original homeland.
