Not sure about Army policy, but the AF would allow you to take them. I'd think Army would be the same. But you never can tell what they will do. I'd ask my first shirt.

depends on how long the AIT is. I think if it over 6 months it will be a PCS move. Ft Gordon. we were there for almost 2 years. HATED IT!!! But take advantage of free hockey tickets though MWR and you will be in civilization with all the shopping and restaurants there. Evans has the best walmart and eating places!!!!

Probally not, unless the AIT is longer than 26 weeks.

But your family can stay on the post they are currently living on, since your AIT will be done TDY.

Or, if you already know your follow on assignment,

Your family can get permission to go ahead and relocate to that post, while you are in AIT.

i dont believe that you can take them because you are going to be doing training with a whole bunch of soldiers just out of basic and you might be living in the barracks with them. i would imagine you couldnt do that considering that is not gonna be your duty station so they they probably dont have family housing set up for you.. when i was in ait we had a couple of e-5's and one e-6 with us and they stayed in the training barracks but that was over 6 years ago and they were training to be MP's

Why are you asking complete strangers on here who wouldn't know the anwser; you should be asking your chain of command instead, they will know.
