Because environmental nuts will cry if we do. This is also one of the primary reasons gas is as high as it is.
No supply? Higher demand? ... equals more dependancy on OTHER sources for oil.
We have all the oil we need off our coasts and in our land... we just cant drill for it because of liberal environmental tree huggers!

The eco-terrorists (environmental movement) won't let us. This movement was taken over by a bunch of displaced soviets after the cold war. It's run by communists now who hate capitalism. Even the founder of Greenpeace had to quit when Greenpeace was taken over. He wrote all about the takeover years ago.
I wish we could drill for our own oil too. We have tons of oil off the west coast and near Florida, as well as up in the frigid wastelands in Alaska. Even Cuba is allowed to drill off of the Florida coast, but we can't.
The reason we can't drill is because they don't like us to have a stable economy and want us dependent on hostile countries for our fuel needs. We really need to do something before it's too late. Write your congressmen.

China has a deal with Cuba to drill off their coast. It just so happens there is only 90 miles between Florida and Cuba. Why aren't we getting that oil? GREENPEACE won't let us.

The USA is not drilling off our coasts, or opening other areas because of the ENVIRONMENTALISTS. Seems a shame since we are literally sitting on a lot of unused areas we could be looking into. Instead we buy from very turbulent areas of the world. Makes zero sense to me.

hmm....very interesting because when Jeb Bush was running for re-election in 2002, Dubya signed a moratorium preventing any further oil and gas exploration off of the Florida coast (but declined to do the same for California, despite a request from the State for it).
From what I understand, that moratorium was never revoked. So where did you get your information from?

Because they are in international waters and do not have the tree huggers that are stopping us.

cuz they own us now?
