events for me and my recently handicapped girlfriend?
my girlfriend was recently injured at work and now can't walk very long, nor walk without a cane. this kinda puts a hamper on the things that we used to do like go dancing or walking or to the mall (as most malls in our area don't have wheelchairs). what are some activities that she and i can do that don't require a lot of walking, but still allow us to spend time together out of the house?

I don't know what interests you two. I went to an art lecture yesterday evening, ran into a good friend who's been wheelchair-bound for 10 years and her husband. I can't invite them over, because I have steps & etc, but we enjoy talking by phone or in person about pictures and whenever we have a meal together I go to their house.
If you identify some things you & your girlfriend want to know about - art lecture, small-arms demonstration, birding slides - you can target your outings more toward your mutual interests and less toward your physical capabilities.
Also, phone a local veterans center or your state agency for the handicapped to learn about the increasing accessibility of public spaces to people without two good legs.

Picnics, Concerts, Boating, Driving along the coast, etc...
Plenty of options that don't require a lot of walking. Picnics are great because you can park the car, prep the blanket and carry her from the car. Make sure there is plenty of shade and bring a blanket if it gets cold. It's a low cost method of being outdoors and usually gets bonus points for being a romantic activity.
