Does anyone know who the gasoline police are?

I need to report two bad tanks of gas from the same gas station in the last three months. The emissions symbol on my car comes on, and the card shakes and shimmies. The gas works itself out with subsequent fill ups, so no permanent damgage yet.... Now that it has happened a second time, I want to report it, but don't know who to tell. I live in Kansas.

I would first approach the gas station about the problem,it may be a moisture problem that they are unaware of or a filtration problem that needs to be addressed. In the state of Florida, where I live, gasoline sales are governed by the Fl. Dept. of Agriculture, the same may be true where you live. Try your local county gov't offices for the right dept. that regulates gasoline sales.

There's no such thing as the "gasoline police". First, I would suggest you stop buying gas at the station. In most states the bureau of weights and measures regulates the sale of gasoline. You better be able to prove the problem is their gasoline and not your vehicle.

    Try the EPA.
