Weaning Help Needed!?
I am trying to wean my 12 month old but having trouble because she doesn't like cow's milk (I tried giving it flavor and she doesn’t want it), I'm trying powdered milk and she doesn't like it either.
-This is the first time she will be having milk that is not breast milk.
-I only breastfeed her at night during the day she eats food, snacks and normally drinks water and juice.
-I'm trying to not give her any drinks now during the day but the powdered milk but she only drinks a few sips (until she notices it's milk).
-She drinks from cups (and sippy cups) and straws.
What can I do to get her to drink milk she needs the nutriments and I don't want her to get dehydrated.

You need to wean her onto it. Pump your breastmilk (if you are able to) and mix 3/4 Breastmilk with 1/4 Milk, do that for a day or two. Then mix it 1/2 Breastmilk and 1/2 milk. Do that for a few days, then do 1/4 Breastmilk and 3/4 Milk. That will get her used to the taste of it. Just be persistant and offer it to her often. It won't hurt her not to drink it, just make sure you are feeding her very calcium rich foods. And you can give her as much water as she wants to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Alot of kids just don't like milk.

If you don't mind pumping, see if she'll take the breast milk out of the sippy cup or whatever you use during the day. If she'll take that, gradually add cow's milk and subtact a little breast milk until you are giving her all cows milk. This may take a few weeks or even months.
If that does not work, that is OK. She can get the vitamins from other sources yogurt, cheese, etc.

Your breastmilk will continue to have far better nutritional value to her than cows milk. BUT if you no longer wish to breastfeed, and it isnt just thinking that she NEEDS cows milk, tehn try mixing it so much breastmilk to so much cows milk adn gradually switchign it to 100% cows milk. She also does not need any milk, it is only whats IN the milk and it can be gotten in many other sources.

Try a soy milk. My daughter didn't like formula but took to cows milk. So this is the only suggestion I can make. Or try evaporated milk mixed with water. She is old enough to try that
