Have you ever had this happen with your live laying chickens?

One of my laying chickens has started laying yellow eggs that have no shell and no egg white. They bounce. When it laid the first one, we didn't know what it was, cut it open and saw it was layer upon layer of egg yolk. What could be causing this? We have ground egg shell in there for her to eat so she should be getting enough calcium. Any ideas?

It sounds like her system has gone into hyperdrive & gone a bit wonky, its very unusual for an egg to be laid with no white at all in it. I can only suggest you keep her well looked after & stress free & that good care may eventually balance her & see things working as they should again.

Ive had a lot of strange eggs laid from my hens but never seen one that is totally yolk.

Chickens have been domesticated from a species of fowl called Jungle poultry (no shaggy dog tale!) i think of they're crimson Jungle poultry and additionally another species. So yeah i think of they nevertheless stay in the wild. i'm beneficial they build nests and incubate their eggs purely like different birds in the wild do!

i personally have never heard of this it might be a genetic disorder but it also might be a deformity passed along through out the chicken's generations. but other than that I'm stumped.
