I have a new laptop with Vista, Can I install Word 2000 without problems?

Update:

No, I have a Microsoft Word 2000 disc. I am reluctant to try without knowing the ramifications in a new laptop.

No I do not have Office, I just need the word processor.

You did not complete your question, and you have to tell us whether you have Office 2007 in your laptop or not.

Any way, office 2000, M or XP, is not suitbale for visat, because the extensions of Office programs changes in Vista, then the old versions.

    Good Luck!!!

Now it is clear; you still not have office, that means still not saved any work in your laptop.

Therefore, for vista it is better for you to install Office 2007, in order not to face future problem for opening any saving your files. And you can start your work with standard system not conflicted versions.

Microsoft did this in order to get more money, otherwise they will loss and not getting any further income.

Or Install windows 2000, or Millennium or XP, with same version of office 2000 or office 2003 for XP.

My advice, if you are not familiar with VISTA, you can format it and install (Windows XP Professional service back 2). with office 2003. It is the best of Windows.
