Home-school parents and families: Thank the Governor of CA for taking a stand in favor of home-schooling?

Update:

Please use the link to contact the Governor and thank him for the statement that he made. All home-school families should be thankful -- whether in CA or any other state.

Update 2:

The CC that my daughter attends gave mixed signals about homeschoolers. The office ladies were snippy. But the admissions counselor was delighted to have a home-school student apply for classes. She said that in her experience all of the previously home-schooled students were willing to do the work and they were smart and wonderful -- unlike the baseball scholarship kids that had just been in her office.

Thanks for the link. I sent my feedback.

Re: community college... 1) it is the admissions officer(s) that counts not the receptionist(s); 2) most community colleges are state institutions so the "just admitting for the money" comment that someone made is bogus; 3) all of the community colleges in our area love homeschooled kids...

***UPDATE: I received an email response...

Thank you for contacting me about the recent Second District Court of Appeals ruling on home schooling.

Every California child deserves a quality education - but it is the parents' right to decide what's best for their children. Parents should not be penalized for acting in the best interests of their children's education.

This ruling is outrageous and must be overturned by the courts. If the courts do not act to protect parents' rights, then - as elected officials - we will.

Again, thank you for adding your voice to this important issue.

    Sincerely,

    Arnold Schwarzenegger

A "form letter" response I'm sure. I don't imagine Arnold typed this in himself just for me - but it kinda tickled me anyway to get the reply.

New Orleans had a device the place the mothers and fathers had to pay the colleges immediately for the education of their very own toddlers. lots of the youngsters of the poorer place of abode had in simple terms approximately no education. If firms choose knowledgeable workers, they could desire to make contributions in the direction of that education, as they do in maximum aspects of america. Washington DC has an excruciatingly intense value of education and actually some Failed scholars. it is not basically the money. it is the mothers and fathers, the academics, the Socialist Unions, and the superb answer is to alter the device and allowing the mothers and fathers of scholars the prospect to opt for the colleges and instructors they choose for his or her very own toddlers. in the event that they are paying the value, they shouldn't additionally be paying taxes to help different colleges.
