Pet Photography - Release Forms?

I like to take photographs of pets for my greeting cards but I don't know what type of release form for protection I will need. Does anyone knows if there is one? I know there are model release forms but I couldn't find anything online about pets. I really enjoy photographing animals, eventually down the line I would like to have my pet photography business but right now I just want to take photographs of pets for my greeting cards and not get sued if I sell them.

Update:

I read that "things" including animals do not have privacy rights but their owners do. I want to protect my self from the owners :) not the pet.

Pets are actually considered property, so you may a need a property release. I have been doing pets for 3 years have never had an issue.

Maybe you could make up your own form and receive permission on the form prior to taking the pics and have the owners relinquish any claim or right to your use of the photos of their pets.

No, you don't need a release form... pets aren't protected by privacy laws.

just modify a property release if in doubt, if you get a signed release you have some protection, no release no protection.
