I am a point guard and...?

...we are playing a team today that is going to press full court. Should i pass the ball up court or use my dribbling skills to get by the press?

It mainly depends on what kind of press they are going to be in. If there's a two-man front, it might be a good idea to try to dribble towards one of the defenders and then pass to one of your teammates who should be in the middle of the court. Just use your judgement and IQ (I'm assuming you have a high basketball IQ if you're a PG). There's not really an absolute that you can adhere to on every play. Use your smarts to know when you should try to dribble around someone and when you should pass to one of your teammates. Never try to dribble through a double-team. Good luck in your game.

It depends on you. If you can blow by the defenders yourself, just dribble it yourself. You're a point guard and you should be able to handle the pressure even if it is a double team on you. But, if you can't penetrate and past by your defender/s, just pass the ball to an open teammate and set the play half court. Good luck in your game! Have a nice game!

(Btw, I'm also a point guard)

the guy who answered your question must not be a true point gaurd... but passing is always faster then dribbling and in a press the defense is looking to trap the ball so youll need to make crisp passed, always look to the middle first.
