downloaded files used to go on the desktop. Now, it is the desktop folder under My Computer. How to change it back. thanks

Tools -> Downloads -> just change all files download to new location

In Firefox:
Tools > Options > and select the Main tab
In there, there's a Download section. Edit there.

the most foolproof way is to manually replica some records out of your previous workstation to the hot one. on your previous workstation, bypass to right here listing: c:files and settingsusernameapplication datamozillafirefox replace "username" with the call you take advantage of on your account. also, the listing "software records" is hidden, so that you may want to teach on the alternative to view hidden records. replica all the records/folder in that listing to the same region on your new workstation. in case you take advantage of a distinct "username" on the hot workstation, make sure that you replica into that folder and in no way use the former username from the first workstation.
