Dog with addisons needs minor surgery. Do I stop prednisone?
My 7 year old dog was diagnosed with Addisons 2 years ago---after a near death experience of going into schock. She has a nasty skin tumor---vet thinks is benign---but is growing and must be removed. She has surgery tomorrow (will be put under), and vet said not to give her medication tomorrow. However, all the sites I read---say the medication is important and should never be skipped. I worry she will be especially hyper and nervous at the vet. Any suggestions?

FOLLOW YOUR VET INSTRUCTIONS..... if in doubt call him again with your concerns

your vet might be administering an injection of steroids to your dog when she comes in for surgery. best bet would be to call your vet and ask for clarification.

Call your vet and remind him that she is on prednisone. Ask specifically if you are not to give it to her, (I'm sure they want her to have nothing on her stomach because of the anesthesia, and assume they will give it to her after surgery and she wakes up), Please call and ask for sure.
