What is the life span of a modern washing machine?
I've read what the "experts" have said but would like to hear from some actual consumers.
My current machine is a GE front loader.

When I bought mine 10 years ago I was told to expect it to last 5 years.........although I have noticed that it makes some strange noises these days.

It all depends on how much laundry you do, and how well you care for it. My first Kenmore lasted nearly 20 yrs. I just replaced it a few months ago. But we had it checked yearly. In that time we only put in a new timer. I only do full loads and it's just my husband and I. My new machine is a GE top load. I would say that you should get at least 10 yrs if you have a couple of children, 15 + if there is just 1 or 2 your doing laundry for.

We bought a Samsung wf350anw front load washer 3 1/2 years ago from Lowe's and it is now junk. The bearings wore out and it will cost just as much to fix as what it is was to buy new. Conveniently for Samsung the warranty on the tub is 3 years. They would not do anything to remedy the situation so we are stuck with the matching dryer and no washer.

Depends on how you use it.If you do alot of heavy loads Id say 5-10 years.Mine is well above that and still going.
