Potty Training Question.?

My problem is that my daughter still won't tell us when she has the urge to go.

She is doing well so far. She is willing to go and has mastered the mechanics of it.

We have to ask her all day and just get lucky that we catch it before she has already gone in the pull-ups.

Is there a strategy to help them realize that they are ready to go before they have already started?

Also, she has yet to go #2, any suggestions for this?

Finally, would you suggest letting her go in nothing but shorts so she can feel the sensation of it without a diaper?

I would definitely stop using the pull-ups. They did nothing for my toddler and when I switched her to underwear, she was able to feel the wetness and discomfort - and she was quickly potty trained. (I think it was about a week or so)

It gets messy with the accidents but unless they feel the wetness, there's really no motivation for them to tell you they need to "go".

my daughter didn't get it until we stopped using pullups *except at night* and wore big girl panties. we let her pick out the ones she wanted and encouraged her not to get them wet *or dirty* because they wouldn't be so pretty any more. that worked really well and when she started that it was only a few days and she wasn't even having night accidents. Good luck. Potty training is so much work. I'm done with one and have two more to go *for now*.

i would never put a kid in pull-ups why not use a diaper?? they are the same thing and get her some big girl panties and she will light up my daughters did......lol as for # 2 on the pot i always offered my kids candy or gum i know its not the best thing but it worked and they did fine but i honestly think pull ups confuse a kid theyre probally asking themselves "is this just a fancy diaper" think about it.....lol good luck
