Do you force yourself to sleep?

I really don't like to go to sleep. Really. Right now it is 1:30 AM, and I really don't want to sleep. But I know I should, cause tomorrow I will be tired if I do not.

Question is, do you force yourself to sleep? And if you do, how do you do it?

    Yeah,I always force myself.

    I have no method though.

It takes me AGES to fall asleep.

I just close my eyes and try to stay still haha.

I work night shift.. So during the day I have to force myself to sleep, and to stay asleep. I haven't slept more then 4 hours uninterrupted since I started this job!

Sometimes I'll try just laying there for a half hour, most times I'll go to sleep. If I don't, I get up and start exercising - jumping jacks or pushups, go outside with the dog and play around, anything to exert myself a little. Or I re-do a normal ritual to make my body think it's sleep time; I normally have a shower before I go to bed, or curl up in bed with a movie.

yea, I have the same problem... when I reach past 12 I usually cannot fall asleep 'til 4 or 5 in the morning. And I have school at 9. It was worse though, during vacation. I was asleep all day and awake 'til the sun shines. I kinda feel like a vampire. LOL

Anyway, try just laying in bed. Close your eyes and don't think about anything. Try putting some music on. It usually helps me.

yeah I do force myself to sleep for the exact same reason. Although I got the day off so I'll be fine. I just pop in a movie and face away from the tv. So I can listen and drift off and the same time.

I take trazadone to induce sleep. If I don't take it then I don't sleep at all, some how my sleep cycle has been totally messed up and being bi-polar doesn't help the whole sleep issue either. You must live in Eastern Daylight Time Zone, cause its 1:30am here to...

I lay in bed, then I think about my future life. So here I am, thinking about my perfect date, and swimming in ice cream with marshmallows as floaties and all that, and become a pokemon trainer, and become comfortably rich, can eat all I can without worrying about getting fat, no worries about acne....and then BAM. I'm wake up, it's morning, back to reality. Maybe some medicine or some of those apps with sounds that help you sleep would help?

It's 1:30am here too. I'm also fighting off sleep right now, because I have to max out on Y!A. Usually I just stay up until I'm tired.

Sleep is important to everyone. Without it, people become really unhealthy, short tempered, and get into accidents.

During the day, walk at least 1 hour in daylight, and hydrate yourself. Also eat healthy.

You know this. Taking No doz, sleeping pills and Nyquil doesn't do crap. It makes you sick!

I do. For the same reason. I know I'll be tired in the morning and won't have energy to do things I'm required to do. I just close my eyes and day dream about me and my friends doing the coolest stuff and next thing I know, I'm snoozing away.

It takes me a good 3 hours to fall asleep every night. Sometimes drinking a little before bed helps, and sometimes I just reach for the good ol' Tylonol PMs.

Watch TV. That is what I do when trying to sleep. Also, I do certain rituals before going to bed so I do not have to worry about things when I am trying to sleep.
