How can sexual energy be used for for spiritual development?

Channel that energy into love. Imagine everyone are sons and daughters of God. Try to see their soul instead of their exterior qualities. See God in everyone.

I think that a healthy, sexual relationship in a marriage is very important.

It is a time of intimacy and vulnerability where a couple can share themselves entirely and without restraint. While there are certainly other ways they can grow in their spirituality together, there is something special about this private time together.

Literally they become one. The rest of the world fades away while the couple enjoy each other. It is a time of giving, receiving and just being together -as one. I think that couples who are spiritually in tune with one another, or at least trying, can communicate with more than words; with a touch or a look. It's a time for them to focus just on each other.

Such a profound engagement will not only bring the couple closer but I think because of the intensity they also grow together and individually in their spirituality. Ultimate trust and honesty is needed for love making. Interestingly enough trust and honesty are foundations of a solid marriage and faith. I think in marriage the 3 are intertwined. You grow spiritually in one, you grow spiritually in the others as well.

Think about what exactly you are attracted to and how it is really just the ego reaching for a petty desire the same way it reaches for a drink or the TV remote. We are human animals with natural desires and there is nothing wrong with sex but if you want to develop spiritually it may help to refrain and to think on where that desire is coming from.

If you are not married: 1 Thess. 4:3 'For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication.'

If you are married: Eph. 6: 4 'Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.'

It's the connection between the two people. It is like becoming one with the other person. So it helps you be able to experience the memory of becoming one with Spirit.

What a waste of sexual energy.
