Do the actors/actresses really have sex in softcore adult movies?
I know it isn't explicit but are they actually having sex and the camera angles just hide it skillfully or is there some other trick involved?
If anyone knows what might these tricks be?

I don't think they are actually having sex... just like the actors aren't having sex in regular movies that have sex scenes (granted - some mainstream films have actual sexual activity)
Most of the time it would be the girls long hair covering her face as she 'performs oral sex' or her legs hiding the fact that The male's penis isn't entering her.

Well it's not always fake in some softcore movies. I have seen the making of porno movies on Showtime of all places and they showed how they shot both types of scenes. They will shoot a softcore version and a hardcore version in alot of movies, that way they can take advantage of the revenue from say Cinemax and Showtime as well as their main hardcore market.

Was curious myself after seeing a model i know in a film...but didn't want to ask. But during the scenes, the lady being on top is way back on the legs instead of the right place...there's no space at all between them. Then when on all fours, it doesn't seem right neither and the sound is way off, lol. Thanx for the answers everyone.

There is a distinction that you need to understand. Some are "acted" and "simulated" others are "unstimulated" and real it depends upon the director request. A more than few mainstream movie are controversial for containing graphic and unstimulated with real penetration where actors/actresses have self confessed of their "act" to be real and not a work of camera. E.g Shortbus Several actors in this American film, including Canadian TV personality, singer, and CBC national radio host Sook-Yin Lee,[34] perform real coitus and other sexual acts. Non-simulated sex acts include explicit masturbation by several characters, coitus, and heterosexual and homosexual fellatio All About Anna This was a particular challenge to the film’s cast, who had to cope with the traditional social and human traumas associated with having real sex in front of a camera. Fortunately the film’s actors and actresses managed to extent their dramatic performances way beyond the norm and truly managed to push the envelope, achieving new means of dramatic expression. 9 songs Several non-simulated sex scenes between actress Margo Stilley and actor Kieran O'Brien, including protected penetration, fellatio, cunnilingus and an on-screen ejaculation by the lead actor Romance Directed by Catherine Breillat, features male and female masturbation, penetration, ejaculation, and sadomasochistic bondage Pola X Pola X ... acquired international notoriety for unsimulated sex scenes between the characters played by [Guillaume] Depardieu and Yekaterina Golubeva, though body doubles were reportedly used for the more graphic shots." ------------------ In all these movies the scenes are filmed so explicit that they are actually acted without any doubt and the 'actual' penetration or sexual act appears very candid.

No. Each scene has been shot at least five-six times (full shot, double shot, two over shoulder single shots, closeups). The actors are surrounded by dozens of people, hot lights, cameras, microphones.
Not exactly conducive to, shall we say, performance.

Nope. If you watch enough soft core porn ( I've always been a bit pervy.), you will notice that when they are doing oral, their heads are nowhere near the right places, and when they are supposedly getting busy, you can see spaces between them.
