For a Dual Boot System to run Windows XP - Linux. Hard disk size 80GB - partition to 60GB for Windows. 20GB available for Linux.

I would go for PClinuxos 2007. The best distro for those migrating from windows. It's very easy, you will have no trouble using it. You can actually try it first wihtout installing it because it's also a live cd. Boot using the CD and test it. If you like it, then just click the install icon on the dekstop.

if the hardware will support it I always say linux mint first or any other ubuntu based distro for your best first time experiance with linux they install very easy of course I have never tried to dual boot one but there are lots of forums for that
