How to install software in other partition instead of the default "partition C" in Windows XP ?
I partitioned my hard drive in 3 partitions.
"C " for Windows XP
"F" for all Files, Photos, Music and others
"P" for software programs like MS Office, Antivirus, Anti Spyware, Photo Editing and many other software.
During istallation process most software install itself in the default "Partition C " . Is there a way for me to install those software in "Partition P" instead ?

when you install you are given the option to select a location.
eg Microsoft office
installation location
c:\program files\Microsoft office\
just change the first letter to / or click browes when given the option of choosing the location
P:\program files\Microsoft office\
or a totally diffrent folder or you dont even have to have a program files folder.

There are some programs that don't let you choose the install directory. For the rest it is as simple as typing in the directory you would like them installed in.
If installed on a drive or partition that is not the windows partition, many programs will also install a certain amount of data on the windows partition. For most programs this isn't to big, but it does require more total hard drive space than installing programs onto the windows drive.
As for photos, music, etc... data files can be moved and organized as you wish.

most of software let you pick where you want to install. some but very few won't let you pick.
if something happen to your c: you will have to reinstall those software again anyway no matter where you install it on your pc.

during installation process, the setup should ask you to choose the path of installation, you should be able to specify alternate path.
