I work for Wal-Mart. Why when we get holiday pay they cut our hours sucks why give us any extra pay at all?

    There are two ways to handle it, from a business point of view:

    1- on a holiday week, have your associates work, say, 40 hours and getting paid for the the 40 plus 8 hrs holiday pay,

    2- on a holiday week work 32 hours and get paid for the 32 plus 8 hours holiday.

    Personally, I wouldn't mind having 3 days off that week-- working 4 days but getting paid for 5. How is that a bad thing?

    well i feel better now that we arent the only store that does that...the sad thing is that our store makes plenty of sales and make better sales each year.,because of being in a large city.i understand its customers first,but just as the customers are the ones that pays our paychecks...its the employees as well that bring the customers in,without both there would be no walmart...sometime i wonder if the company forgets that.you would have to call them and ask 1-800-walmart...

    you have to watch labor costs when you are the low cost leader.
