I've got two of the converters and the picture quality is perfect. That's the nature of digital TV. As long as there's sufficient signal strength, the picture should be very clean -- no snow and wavy lines.

The new digital tuners are in their 5th or 6th generation now. Coupled with the new DTV modulation scheme (called 8-VSB), it's a big advancement over analog.

New HD Tvs have a signal detector that shows analogue stations and digital stations within its range. You get a better digital signal if you put the antenna outside and have someone point it in the best direction.

For instance channel 2 is the regular analogue signal but 2.1 is the digital signal for that channel in High definition (780p). If you get a blue ray machine you will see up to 1080p if your Hd ?Tv is capable of viewing 1080p. (Difference viewable on screens higher than 35 inch....)

I have the newer Digital TV sets. But when I receive both the analog NBC 4, in OKC. go up 1 and Digital 4.1, and then 4.2 NBC Weather plus. I use the antenna.
