How do you 'know' the Holy Spirit is with you? Could it all just be in your mind?

I personally think there is no such thing, and I also think that people can believe in it, but not one person in the world can prove that it does exist.

I have been in a Penecoastal church my whole life and this is how we believe. We believe that when you become born again or ask God into your heart the holy spirit lives inside of you. As long as your making an attempt at a Christian lifestyle. And that when you pray in tongues that is a perfect prayer to God and know one can understand except God and it is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit living inside you. Because it is the Holy spirit saying the prayer.

Most "Christians" don't have the "holy spirit" the holy spirit was a magic mushroom species amanita muscaria... they have religion, which is a placebo, a fake drug, the opiate of the masses.

You have to eat the flesh of christ, the mushroom, the forbidden fruit, the manna from heaven, the bread of life, to have the holy spirit.... and as the bible says... you haven't lived until you've ate of this bread.

It's an interesting question.

I like to think of religion along similar lines as the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

They've each identified a small part of the big picture, yet emphatically believe that theirs is more correct than the other. Not suggesting that I know it all, far from it, but it's an attempt to see things from a more holistic sense *slight irony*

Well when they ask Gawd to give them a "sign" they usually get a good feeling.

Apparently thier feelings are enough evidence for them.

Yeah, really scientific eh? That's the action of the Holy Ghost- giving folks good feelings.

Well... My Priest says "Peace be with you..." and we all shake hands. Isn't the Holy Spirit in such a greeting? Isn't the Holy Spirit Peace?

Do you want scripture basis? I would choose Pentecost scriptures... but there are lots of mentions of the Holy Spirit in the Bible... That's just one example.

My favorite verse : Romans 8. 26. when we do not know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit will pray on our behalf. "the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will."

I find that verse very hopeful!

the Holy Spirit was poured into the minds of all men after Jesus left the earth, so we will know the truth when we hear it

It could even be satan...after all job of satan is to decieve humanity.
