Why can't I use MS Paint on my user on this computer?
Thr other two users...my wife's and the neutral user...both allow Paint to open, but with my user, I get the following error message:

what is wrong, and how do I fix it? I know Win98 is no longer supported, so please try your best.

You might be having different versions of MFC42.DLL associated with each users. Try the following fixes:
1. Login to your account, then click Start\Run issue a
sfc /scannow
in the open: box
Or open a MS-DOS command prompt window, when the black Command Prompt opens, type c:\ then while in that directory type:
sfc /scannow
press enter. This should fix the MFC42.dll error.
If this fails:
2. Try re-installing Win98 on top of the installed one. This should fix MFC42.DLL error when MS Paint is used by your account.
