Good times in Juneau?

I am going on an Alaskan cruise in June with about 20 friends. Most of us are in our late 20s, early 30s, love the outdoors and love to have fun, laugh and meet new people. We don't want to follow the crowd of cruisers, we want to mix it up with some locals, learn about the land, knock back beers and seen the TRUE beauty of Alaska (i.e. the non-packaged stuff!). Any suggestions?

Depends on how long your stay is. One day in town doesn't leave you much time-so, here's some ideas.

Beer- Alaskan Brewery (Take the public bus $1.50)

The Alaskan Hotel (Good beer, good music)

The Imperial (Beer, with garage doors that open to the street)

Hanger on the wharf (Largest beer selection in town, great view of the harbor and outside seating, food's great too)

Basin road would be a good hike, it takes you along gold creek to an old gold mine, beautiful country and right now we still have alot of snow higher up, so the waterfalls are spectacular. The bears are just coming out now too. If you want more info than I can put here, just email me.
