3rd party?

What are your thoughts on the idea of a 3rd party taking the Presidents seat.and do you think we need a different point of view? I know the chances are low but I was curious to hear what people think of the idea should it ever happen. This is just a question to hear your opinions there are no wrong answers.

Update:

There are already lots of strong third parties. It seems that not too many people take the time to read what they stand for and to vote for their candidates.

How can anyone tell the difference between any of the current candidates?

If you look back in just the last few elections, you can see the issues are still the same today.

    Nothing has changed.

I have been accused of "throwing away" my vote for years. The last person I voted for was Jimmy Carter. (Boy was that a mistake!) Since then I have voted for any independent or third party candidate on the ballot. I cannot bring myself to vote for the two parties who have refused to change things.

To me, it does not matter who gets into office if it is a Democrat or a Republican. - it will be business as usual in Washington until we stop electing and re-electing these self-serving politicians.

Here are three other choices and a link to my Yahoo group for more info on what I believe needs to change in our country. You will not agree with all of their platforms but you may agree with enough of what they say to consider supporting them.

Lately, with the failure of The republicans to push for my conservative principles, and the disgust of voting for McCain as the lesser of 2 evils, I'm seriously considering voting for Bob Barr as an independent. The problem is the odds are so low that we risk giving the election to the 1st of 2 evils. Still, at some point in time, the republican party has to get the message that we will not allow them to carry on as liberals in washington, and conservatives when they come home. I view it like drilling in Anwar and all the rest. If we had done it 10 years ago the oil crisis would not be occurring right now. So is it not the right time to throw the election to make the officials wake up. If not now, what will be the likely hood of ever gaining our country back at some other time?

Its almost too late for that. How about a Revolution? Our country is lead by two corrupt and unjust parties. We have lost so many jobs from global warming policies that some third world nations have a stronger economy than we do. Socialism failed in the soviet block , so why are our leaders taking us toward socialism? All three branches of Government get health care and income for life even if they only serve one term. Sounds like self service instead of public service.

I think we should form a third party. And a fourth and fifth if necessary. Most people are moderately off center, whether to the Right or Left. Yet both current Parties have been hijacked by the more extreme elements of their constituency. Americans have been voting for 'the lesser of 2 evils' for far too long.

Yeah---a strong 3rd party is probably the only outs this nation has. Really, where did the political parties get so much control of our government?----the Constitution has no mention of them as a controlling body---what's wrong with the States having a say? Is this not supposed to be a Republic?

I agree the chances are low, but I do think its a good idea. We need more than just the two-party system here. It would be a great way to get rid of the cronyism and corruption as well.

certain and that i'm doing so proudly for Barr. I desire someone who surely follows the structure, that is why I also like Stanley Baldwin. As Einstein suggested the definition of insanity is to doing some thing persistently, even as searching ahead to a diverse result. in case you shop vote casting for a Repubicrat and assume the country to regulate, that is what you're doing. I actually have heard the reaction that if i'm vote casting for third celebration applicants persistently and continuously dropping, follows that theory also. the version is i'd be vote casting for them, in spite of the undeniable fact that that is with the wish they win, i do not assume it.

Third party's will never work with Dem's. and Repub's. still in business because they would work together to get rid of the Third party. but i think Conservatives should make a Independent Conservative Party

And BTW Bob Barr is Libertarian not Independent

Well I would love to bring back honor, integrity and common sense to the two parties however, that will never happen so yes! PLEASE HAVE A THIRD PARTY. Until the establishment and elites take control of that party and so forth.
