Green gardening is when you use compost that you've made in your back yard and you use non-chemical pesticides to control the bugs. Non-green gardening is using pesticides with chemicals in them and any other chemical-oriented substance to make your garden grow. Green gardening takes a little more effort on your part, but, you'll end up with healthier vegetables.

My husband is retired and has a small garden about 12 X 25. Over the years he has learned some tricks like mulching, using ladybugs and mass plantings to get as much in for the least amount of space and of coarse recycling rain water for garden watterings.

Just these simple things has produced as much as a larger garden and less work & cost.

I think an organic garden would be "green" by definition. I garden organically so no different.
