Waving at strangers from your front porch. Does that build community unity?

I do this and I live on a busy street. I think it does so I would like negative answers. If I am unsatisfied with the answers it will go to most votes. Sorry to the positive people out there. I know you would agree with me.

no i dont think it really builds unity. Efforts like improving the community with gardens, arts, medical, homeless shelters, donating time and talents is what brings community unity

I am sure it builds community unity, I think it's okay to wave every once in awhile but most people who are going home want to be left alone and continue on with their lives without being bothered by someone. At least thats how I am!

    Well, it should build community.

But when random people wave at me, I either get scared or angry, because I usually think they're making fun of me or something.

And the times I wave back annoy me, because I usually have to take my hand out of my pocket and then go to the effort of moving it in a waving motion.

Yes, I'm lazy. Out of curiosity, do people wave back to you?

Depends the public who would notice you may think you are probably making new ways to make your morning exercises interesting and creative. If seen frequently enough by busy and unfriendly people they may also think that you're nuts!

No nowadays that just might incite violence depending upon which community you live in.
