In this application, it will have an "Update" button or link for you to do an Internet connection to Kaspersky server to obtain the latest virus updates onto your computer

I am assuming you are using Kaspersky 7.0 product, for updating product manually, Kaspersky offering 3 types of updating.
1) Daily
2) weekly
3) cumulative updates from product release.
Rather than tracking your updates dates, I will suggest you to download cumulative updates. Just follow below steps
1)Go to http://www.kaspersky.com/avupdates
2)select your prodcut version (7.0, 6.0 or 5.0)
3)To protect from network attacks, download databases of network attacks cumulative zip file.
4)After downloading zip file, extract it to some folder.
5)Now open kaspersky application, goto settings>Update section. In the right pane under 'update settings' click on 'Settings...' button, Add your extracted folder path here.
By this way we telling to Kaspersky, ' please take your updates from this location.
6)click the OK button to close each window
7)That's it, Just click on 'Update Databases' of main application window. Update will be completed
