Working to maintain the Special Education category?
For a few days, some of us have been been responding to questions misplaced in this category by reporting it with the following statement:
Wrong category - This category is about the Special Education of Students with Disabilities. This question is not about disabilities and does not belong here cluttering up this category. Please remove. Thank you.
Have you been doing this? If you have, have you received any positive or negative reactions?
I'd also like to suggest as a second prong to our strategy that we lobby Yahoo! Answers for an "Entrance Exams" subcategory. The largest group of misplaced questions seem to be from Asian folks asking questions about those and having no place to put them. Would that approach be too off-message?

Yes, I have posted that paragraph dozens of times in the past week. No, I have not yet received any feedback positive or negative from anyone, including people at YA!. I noticed that they update the best answers section roughly once a week and have not done that yet this week. Hopefully, they will respond to the reports in a similar time frame. **I have not seen a single posting removed during the past week!**

I agree with your concerns. I pop into this category frequently to learn more about disabilities (and have learned A LOT) but I have noticed that it is really a "catch-all" kind of place. It would be nice to deflect all the misguided posters.
