How many years has your longest friendship lasted?

Well I'm only 15, but I was friends with my bestie for 14 years (we met when we were 1 at a crèche thing). It's only in the last couple of weeks actually that we have stopped being friends, because she became a very nasty and horrible person to be associated with, which is really sad.

The rest of my friends I have only been friends with for a year or so, but I'm hoping I will be friends with them for as long as possible.

In 1968, I met Scott H., who was a year behind me in a Columbine-style suburban Oregon high school, by chance on a beach in Waikiki where we'd both fled for our lives. He moved in and we have been like brothers ever since despite the divergent life paths that eventually made him a construction boss in Oakland who spends $1000 a month on tires for his a teal-blue Carrera convertible and listens religiously to Rush Limbaugh on the radio, while I became a fashion model in Paris whose politics are so far left they look like they're right. With the inevitability of age, I now live in a shared loft with goofball druggies in ghetto Bushwick, NY and have a purple '96 Saturn wagon. Missed out on those Reaganomics. But we're still close as can be, and I even photographed his recent wedding to a Double-D real-estate person at a posh Valley country-club where his already-slinky 11-year-old granddaughter brought down the house at the reception with an on-stage performance of 'Barbie Girl': "You can brush my hair, undress me anywhe-ere..."

well, im 15 and my longest friendship has lasted 15 years b/c we lived next to each other and our parents were friends

11 years!

14 years. My best friend and I met way back in the day, when I was 16 and she was 17(about to be 18) and we worked at Burger King. We hit it off, and have been best friends ever since, and still talk to each other regularly, even though she moved to Florida and I still live in New York.

58 years! Yep, started writing to my friend from England when I was 7 years old. We've both been through marriages, divorce, kids, deaths . . . .never thought it would last this long, but she and I are still going strong with family, friends, affairs, lovers, and having a hell of a time doing it . . . . I'll toast to that!
