Has anybody else taking Prozac experienced really bad stomach pains as a side effect?
Did the negitive side effects go away with time? If they did, how long did it take for them to subside?

To the person who wrote they took prozac for pain from splitting a finger.. I wonder what type of doctor would prescribe an antidepressant for pain? I think she has the name of the meds confused. I never took prozac, but have taken lexapro and zoloft. Zoloft is the same as prozac, and yes in the begining I got some stomach pain and nausea. Make sure to take it with food. The side effects go away in about 1-2 weeks. If not talk to your Dr. about switchings meds. You should start feeling full effects in about 4 weeks. Hope that helped.

I have, I broke my finger last year and split the tip wide open, they sewed it up and gave me Prozac for pain. First it gave me terrible stomach pains and dizziness then it knocked me out, I slept for hours!!! I think its just a side effect though, it did eventually go away for me!!
