Do You Believe in Lilith: Adam's Supposed First Wife?
Good Point JIR JPES I know exactly which part too, because I have made that point to people I was debating bible issues with. "Genisis and G-d said " Let US, creat man & woman in OUR own image, in their own image he created them. Man and women " Who was G-d talking to? Anyway, Lilth is a Hebrew fable, and it has zero to do with what her name means beccause she was made out to be a she devil that had sex with with everything on Earth which is why we have demonds in part animal, as well as human. It's just a question folks!!!!

It is an interesting story and would theoretically explain the disparate stories of the creation of woman in the book of Genesis -- first is the line in Gen 1 "male and female created He them", which is followed by the Gen 2 story of Adam and Eve.

No. There is no basis to believe it.
The name Lilith does not appear in the Bible.
The Hebrew word lilit (which refers to a screeching bird) appears one time at Isaiah 34:14. If the meaning here is symbolic (rather than meaning a literal screeching bird) then it is possibly a reference to Liliyu a minor Mesopotamian wind demon.
The main source of the story of Adam having a wife named Lilith comes vague references in the Talmud. That places the date (of a few parts of the story) at the earliest, after 200 AD/CE.
Elaboration of the story is in the Kabbalah, which dates after 1000 AD/CE.

No, I think it's more a mythical story. An interesting treatment of lilith is the novel named Lillith by George MacDonald. It's a haunting story.

No more than I believe in Adam or Eve (or Steve for that matter), but I am rather fascinated by the story of Lillith or Lilitu.

No because the Bible tells me that God saw Adam and realized that he needed a mate , so he put Adam to sleep and took a rib from Adams chest and Made Eve , his first and only wife . So no I have never heard of Lilith and do not even believe she existed .

It is not in the Christian Bible, but it is possible that Adam, like most men of that period of time had multiple wives.

well if you read the bible real close, adam was standign right next to eve as she ate the fruit and did not properly instruct her as to not eating the fruit, so she is also knwon as a rebeliious wife, so both are rebellious and therefor ethat doe smake lillith a myth, you can;t replace one rebellious wife with another.

I believe it's possible. But I don't know for sure.
