Has this been a colt year, or a filly year?

So (responsible and sensible breeders) what kind of a year has it been for you?

I've had a filly year; my Welsh C mare had a filly, and two of the three mares I have out on breeding loan also had fillies. The third had a colt, and my warmblood mare had another colt - he died within 24hrs of birth, and the mare is now raising a filly (through the foaling crisis network).

All in all 2008 is a pink year for me. How about you?

Colts, at least at my friends' friesian barn. No girls in the past two years at all! I wonder if they're feeding the mares something? ;)

It was a colt year for me. Our App/Qh mare had a filly; our App mare had a colt, and our Standardbred cross mare had a colt who was stolen at two weeks of age by the mare's previous owner. She was a rescue I BOUGHT before state agents took her - pregnant and emaciated. She is doing fine now but we all mourned the loss. The other two - a sorrel filly with white spots in her mane, Twister - and Warrior, a blanketed black Appy colt, are doing quite well. So, call us having a blue year!

Then again- a rescue mare a friend owns had a filly, and so did her pony mare, bothof whom I board. That would make it pink, huh?

A colt year for us. 3 out of 4 were boys, only one filly.

Not many babies this year in our neck of the woods. People aren't breeding...thank goodness.

The ones do see and know about...are colts. Haven't heard anyone talk about fillies this year.
