No, alcohol does not purify the blood, but can, however, raise your HDL as well as thin your blood which may have long term cardiovascular benefits. This is true for all types of alcohol, although red wine may have extra benefits. It is also only true for 1-2 drink/day. Anything above this may in fact increase your risk of heart disease

Situps and stomach exercises will definitely tone your stomach, but you'll still have a layer of fat over the muscle. You won't lose weight in one specific area of the body with exercise, it'll come off proportionally from all areas of your body. Any type of cardio will help this happen. In addition to cardio, try eating 6 small meals a day (but make sure you're getting enough calories) to boost metabolism. Make sure you eat a balanced diet, never skimping on one type of food group (like grains) or carbs, which are your main energy source. Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Studies have shown that people serious about weight loss have more luck if they are well-rested. Good luck!

Some experts say that a glass of red wine does help with heart health. However, excessive alcohol intake will turn into fat when it is metabolized, especially with liquours higher in sugar (rum).
