Please help with a minor ding repair?

I have a little ding in my car. Luckily it is in an inconspicuous place. The thing is the paint is flaking a bit. Should I use something like steel wool or sandpaper to get rid of the loose paint? Any specific recommendations for steel wool or sandpaper? Then use a bit of touch-up paint? Any help is welcome. Thanks.

    Be careful if you do this yourself. I have provided a link to a quality paint repair touchup kit that works really well.

    go ahead and sand the loose paint off and get some touch-up paint and touch it up.
