EEk just read you want to use brushes. Thats not going to work. Sorry. YOu can mask off different parts of the bike though or cut out cool designs with stencils and paint them on. You need to use spray paint to get any lasting use out of a paint job....

Make sure you sand the original paint down so it's not shiny anymore. You can get a paint stripper but it takes a lot of work to get all the paint of. BUT it will adhere better to bare metal. Use any rust proofing paint. Like Rustoleum is one type. Make sure you don't mix and match brands use about 1.5-2 cans of paint depending on the size of the bike. Take ALL the stuff off the bike and Prime the frame before painting it. The whole process will take about a week. Prime one day, prime again next day, day after that paint, then paint, then paint. So 5 days about. Then let it sit for a week, paint gets marred easily when it's setting. ALSO I use a clearcoat to make it glossy and better protect the paint. two coats of clearcoat. My bike is Black with a silver fork, it looks amazing!! Much better than the chipped maroon paint that was on it before. Good Luck!
