financial aid problem!?

my girfriends parents just kicked her out of the house...and now she found out that the taxes she filed for the FASA form were from the wrong year (dads mistake) and now her dad might not willing give her the tax information or sign it...making it impossible for her to recieve any finanical aid... and of course she cant pay for college (and u cant decalare being independant unless u got removed from the home becuase of dangerous and stuff) So if her dad doesnt let her have the taxes is there anything that she can do to basically force him? any ideas/tips?

No, not much she can do to force him.. she could try to go to legal aid and see if they would draft an official looking letter to him on her behalf... but I doubt it would go anywhere.

Having to sue her parents so she can take out a student loan and afford to pay for her own education is where this world is coming to.....

    sad, so sad.

Did her dad already file taxes for the current year? If so, she will recieve a form stating that the information seems inacurrate, and will have to complete a form to verify all information. If he did not file taxes by the time that the FAFSA was submitted, then it is ok because as long as he did not file yet by then, they will still accept the old tax return. The best thing is to call the federal student aid info, the place that processes the FAFSA 800 433 3243.
