How true do you find these quotes?

A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of. - Burt Bacharach.

That which has always been accepted by everyone, everywhere, is almost certain to be false. - Paul Valery

There is no reciprocity. Men love women, women love children, children love hamsters. – Alice Thomas Ellis

Update:

I definately find the first one VERY true for me.

Sometimes I spell the word so completely wrong, spell check can't even give me suggestions.

I find them to be true.

    Here is a quote for you;

There'll be two dates on your tombstone and all your friends will read'em, but all that's gonna matter is that little dash between'em---Kevin Welch

I don't really agree with Bacharach; a synonym is more like a word to describe something when you want variety - after all, using the same word more than once would be more than a little dull (unless it's a technique you're using).

I quite agree with Valery because humans are often misguided by false truths. However, there are certain philosophies in life like "Change is the only constant" that are true and also accepted by society.

I disagree with Ellis. Men love women and women can love men back in return - and same for everything else in this world.

Burt Bacharach - i find that true because I've had that happen alot. big words are hard to spell and it is just easier to use some others

Paul Valery - this is also true, It is impossible for everyone to accept something hence it is false.

Alice Thomas Ellis - Well I just find that one kind of dumb

I like the last one, but you left out part:

There is no reciprocity. Men love women, women love children, children love hamsters, Richard Gere loves gerbils. – Alice Thomas Ellis

I agree with the first one, very funny, very true. As I was completing the writing portion of the LSAT I did that - used a different word because I could remember how to spell another word.

    The second I don't agree with .

The third I don't agree with either - it's ludicrous.

the first and last ones were meant in a humourous manner and aren't really true. they probably would have more of a ring of truth to them if we knew the context that the person was coming from.

the middle one, by Paul Valery is absolutely true... goes along with 'the majority is always wrong'.

The first is true to me. Synonym is a word that means the same so why not?

The second could be true. It depends.

    Third one, NOT TRUE.

Try putting it on the search engine dogpile. It never fails me.

The first one is pretty good
